Welcome back to another Sunday! I'm really enjoying watching and reading content like this, everyday life and routines etc, so it's inspiring me to write it too. I'm writing this up pretty close to real time (it's 3 o'clock on said Sunday) and it's been a wonderful day so far. A proper recharge is the perfect way to describe today. I actually woke up feeling quite overwhelmed and almost dreading the day ahead. I guess that's why it's so important to not write off a day at any point- it can always turn around.
Sunday 27th April 2025
Once I'd pulled myself out of bed rot mode, I started my day by watching Zoe Sugg's new vlog. This is actually a huge reason for the turn around of my morning! Watching someone else be productive and make the most of their day very much so motivated me to get up and go with my own.
Then it was time to sort my hair out. Look at it! Deffo in need of some TLC hahaha.
Whilst my bath was running, I gave my front room a little tidy and refresh.
I love a room spray and this one is relatively new and really nice. It's from my favourite m&s range: Apothecary. I have a bunch of their perfumes and sleep products, but this is my first time trying their room spray!
I also got Red, one of our gerbils, out for a run around as she's a social gal!
After my bath and washing my face I'm loving the Pixi Anywhere Patches under my eyes. They really help with keeping my skin feeling fresh and moisturised.
My weekend perfume of choice is currently Cosmic by Kylie Jenner. For me it's definitely a day time scent- light, sweet and floral.
Then time to dry and straighten my hair! Absolutely love how the Dyson Airstrait makes that a one step job now.
Enjoying wearing my hair straight at the moment. Think it just works best at this length. Can also probably tell I've had a breakout of spots recently- just scarring left rather than spots themselves but came as quick a shock after years of clear skin as an adult! A bit of a confidence knocker.
After taking under eye patches off I put on this! Absolutely the best moisturiser I've ever used.
Time for lunch and work! This is my favourite cheese at the moment. It's Chaource and if you're a fan of creamy cheeses, with a little more strength than the average Brie, I highly recommend!
...and then I began writing up this post! Sitting in the sunshine and writing :) perfection!
I am currently so obsessed with alcohol free gin in a tin. AF gin in general really, but these are much easier to just grab and take outside hahaha. I'm really trying to get better at staying hydrated currently. I'm not very good at recognising when I'm thirsty, and end up feeling weak and headachey and wondering why more often than I'd like to admit. My strongest tactic at the moment is having in all of my favourites so I'm much more likely to remember!

We went into the garage to get my bike out, but ended up finding this collection of my old CDs! and a club penguin game!!! These are precious artifacts that deserve pride of place in my front room, so I saved them from the sad fate of the garage. Funny thing was, I was actually listening to the High School Musical 2 soundtrack on my phone when we found it!
We had a bake sale at work the following day so made some rock cakes!
I earlier shared my current favourite cold drink- this is my favourite tea! It's Berry and Hibiscus by Canton. I used to be completely obsessed with Twinnings Raspberry and Echinacea tea and they discontinued it in 2020! Following this I spent years searching for an alternative and tried this in Gloucester services and for some reason it tastes SO SIMILAR!!! Delicious.
Ready to go into the oven!
As our rock cakes baked, we sad outside with tea and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. I've been outside at every opertunity these last few weeks and my mental health is significantly better for it.
For tea we had a variant of my favourite feta pasta. Yum!
Then me and Iestyn spent the rest of the afternoon out and about. We went to have a nosy at bikes, as mine is in a bad way presently, but didn't find anything special. We did, however, have a great sing along session!
When I got home, our rock cakes were packed up and ready to go for tomorrow...
and my final act of self care for the day was making myself a pink G&T! I have discovered I prefer regular tonic water though hahaha. Today has been so needed, to feel recharged and present and genuinely very happy. I'm constantly learning about what I need in order to achieve this, and only in the last few weeks have gotten on top of the simplest of routines that you've seen in this post. Making myself nice drinks throughout the day, spending time outside, eating my favourite foods, balancing productivity with restoration- I'm not ashamed to say how recent these additions are, I'm just so glad to be successfully creating new, healthy habits after a winter of overwhelm and slight loss of self.
I'm so glad I didn't write today off based on the first hour.
Keep making time for you, even if life is hectic and you feel you don't have room for it.
Happy spring to all and catch up soon!
