Get Ready With Me #2

My first get ready with me in over a year and a half so forgive me if I’m a little rusty and let me know in the comments if there’s any questions about products or technique I haven’t included! You may also notice my hair is very short and very blonde in this post and that is because I took the pictures for this a while back in my time away from the blog. Now let’s get into it because I looooove this look.

Me, fresh out of bed, in my PJs! My hair had been curled the day before which is why it looks fancier than usual haha.

I washed my face with Neals Yard Rose Facial Wash and then moisturised with NIP + FAB Kale Fix moisturiser, my absolute fave at the time!

I wanted to do a smokey eye so naturally I reached for my Kylie Cosmetics Kris palette because damn is that palette made for smoking things out.

I’m an idiot and didn’t take photos of these steps on my actual eyes so you can see more specifically where to add the shades and what the shadow goes on like etc, but here’s a photo of the completed eye look from a selfie I took later on. You can refer back to this so my instructions make a little more sense hahaha.

I primed by eyes with concealer then set them with the shade ‘I love myself’

I blended ‘It’s an emergency’ through my crease.

Then went in with ‘paybacks a bitch’ (god I love these shadow names wtf) to intensify the crease a little more, and brought it down a little further onto the lid than ‘It’s an emergency’

Then I took a denser brush and really packed on the black into my outer corner from the crease down to the lashes. I gently blended the edges of the black but kept the intensity as much as possible.

With my finger I mixed the shades ‘haters’ and ‘vodka tonic’ by layering them on top of each other lightly, so the effect was more shimmery and subtle rather than metallic. I wanted the black to remain the main focus of the look.

I used Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara to completely transform my shitty lashes! We love volume without major clumping and don’t get me started on the length!

Primed my face with Urban Decay’s Optical illusion complexion primer, makes your face feel SO smooth.

Then applied Maybelline Super Stay, my personal fave at the time for it’s incredible coverage and long wear, with a damp Nx Beauty blender. I concealed with revolution conceal and define (original).

The Body Shop Foundation Powder has been a fave of mine for a while now. It just seems to smooth my face and make it look softer, almost like a filter! Also lol at my 1D onesie, DATE ME HARRY

I’ve just realised I didn’t get any footage of doing my brows which is so annoying! I was so unorganised! I filled in my eyebrows with a liner brush and brown shadow. I won’t go into further detail because they’re not even done well!

As you can see I’ve hit pan on my favourite contour and highlight shades from the revolution contour palette. It’s well loved! I took my shade on my Zoeva Luxe Face Paint Brush.

Dipped into this shade of the hot spice blush palette by revolution with a real techniques contour brush. Only tapped it lightly as it’s got decent pigmentation!

Applies so evenly which is so important with blushes as I have pretty blotchy cheeks naturally- the last thing I want is to replicate that with my makeup!

Right side with blush left side without!

Then it was time to use my new brush, a gift from my lovely mum after a tough day! I was SO EXCITED it’s sooooo beautiful and so so soft!

I love this shade from the Soph highlighter palette by Revolution, I’d actually highly recommend this palette for so many skin tones, such a perfect finish on the skin.

Oh goodness look at that concentration face

Once my face makeup was finished, I took the shade ‘paybacks a bitch’ and applied it underneath the eyes to tie the look together

Then I had a setting spray faff, at first I used L’oreal Infallible setting spray

But after spraying it and applying half a top lip of lipstick, I realised I hadn’t shaken it and it had left white chalky spots all over my face from where it sprayed.. So I spent ten minutes trying to blend that away with my beauty blender without ruining my makeup (you can see in upcoming pictures I couldn’t get it off my eyeshadow without taking that off so I just left it lol) and then went in with my trusty Mac Fix+ instead. Hence the grumpy face.

Last step for my makeup, I used Mac Velvet teddy all over the lips, then Cairo by NYX in the centre. I looove doing this fade effect with nude lips.

Now time for some awkward close ups of my face so you can see my finished makeup!

Then it was time to get out of my 1D onesie (my 13th birthday present lol) and into my clothes for the day!

popped on a deep green topshop body con dress! Then used my dove soft feel stick deodorant and Snowella perfume (literally one of my favourite scents ever but limited edition 🙁 I should’ve stocked up)

Then it was hair down & ready to face the day! Thank you for reading my 4th and favourite get ready with me! I’ll leave you with some pictures of me feeling happy & confident in my attire.. I hope you like how the look came together as much as I do!

Have a lovely weekend! See you next Friday at 5
