I've always loved seeing what makeup people take on holiday as you really get to see peoples holy grail products that they know won't fail them whilst they're away and their best travel sized palettes! I for one definitely only took my absolute favourites, excluding things like bronzer and highlight as I just took a palette with bronze, highlight and blush all in one as it's so convenient to travel with!
~
I took 2 bags with me, one bag that I popped in my swim bag with essentials like mascara, brows, hand cream (if I needed to pop some on after swimming) and another full of things for a full face like my eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks!
~
First we'll dive into my swim bag makeup! (also just to clarify, I only applied all of these products after swimming once, when we were going to dinner after. They were all in here just in case, or if I wanted to draw my patchy brows back on before we went for a drink, not because I apply a full face every time I get out of the pool! I spent most of the time with a makeup free face!)
Nip + Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser
I always popped this on after my swim as it's so important after my skin goes dry from the chlorine! I love how fresh and good this feels for my face.
Mac Fix +
I take this everywhere with me.. This is perfect to prime, set or even simply hydrate your skin with just one spritz!
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil
As mentioned above, I have very thick eyebrows which means the patchiness is very noticeable! To help with my insecurities, I often popped on some of my go too brow pencil after a swim!
Mac False Lash Mascara
I popped this sample sized mascara in my bag just in case!
Obsession Conceal Light
This concealer is extremely wearable with foundation underneath because of the stunning natural finish. It's one of my favourites for a natural makeup day!
Revolution Stick Foundation
This is a fabulous foundation for travelling. It can be worn as a light coverage foundation, but is easily built to full, It's actually pale enough for my skin without having to bother with mixing in lightening drops and it stays on all day. Plus the packaging and size makes it easy to carry around in your bag! I also love my Next beauty blender which came in a set of three!
The Body Shop All In One Face Base Powder Foundation
This was a really handy product for keeping my face matte and adding a little bit of coverage if necessary! It helped stop my face from getting oily.
Revolution Sculpt and Contour Palette
My friend Emily recommended this palette to me years ago and I still use it all the time for travelling! The 'contour' shade is a little too orange toned for me so I prefer to use it more as a bronze. Both the blush and highlight are perfect for me and are so flattering on the skin! Sometimes for travelling you feel like you have to make some compromises in terms of quality as it's easier to just take a palettes with it all in then your favourite individuals, but you don't feel like that with this palette, you feel like you'd opt to use these beautiful shades with incredible formula regardless!
Pixi Lip Balm
This lip balm is great for popping in your hand bag! It's tinted so it gives your lips a stunning your-lips-but-better look. However, it is quite a thick formula, which isn't everyones thing. I myself tend to prefer a more think and soft lip balm, but this is an exception!
Now onto my main bag!
Soph X Revolution Palettes
These are my two favourite at the moment and I genuinely haven't reached for anything else since the Extra Spice palette came out, so they were an easy choice to make when deciding which palette to take! The extra spice has my favourite colours but the original had the base and transition shades I need to start every look.
Obsession Dewy Fix Spray & Pigment Boost
These are super affordable, which makes me more inclined to travel with them as it's not the end of the world if they leak, and do what they claim too! The pigment boost is fab and does it's job, and the dewy fix isn't as long wearing as the L'oréal Infallible or Urban Decay All Nighter, but it does well enough for me and is also super cooling in this weather.
Obsession Baking Powder
To be honest, I bought this the day before from boots simply because I didn't want to risk taking my high end powders. It worked well enough but isn't the best powder I've ever used, however I haven't properly given it a chance yet so that might change.
The Primers: Insta Blur, Prep + Prime and Shadow Insurance
These three are my faves. Shadow Insurance is the best shadow primer I've ever tried and I switch between these two face primers depending on the state of my face! I opt for the Mac primer when it's dry, and Insta Blur when my skin is normal.
Too Faced Soulmates Blush and Bronze
This is sadly the last trip this bronzer survived! The weekend after center parcs we went to London and when I unpacked it, it was completely smashed up! I was very sad :-(
Colour Company Liquid Liner & NYX Wonder Stick
This liner is £1 and works fine for the price so I popped it in, it's nothing exceptional but I'd rather take a few more minutes perfecting it than pay £6 more pounds! I adore my NYX wonder stick for cream contour and using the light side for a cut crease! However, bear in mind it doesn't travel well as all the stick product has fallen out on the contour side!
Lips!
For the week I couldn't just choose one or two lippies to take... I managed to get it down to these 8 which are some of my all time faves for everyday wear! From left to right I took Sleek's Liquor, Bourjois's velvet lip in (I think) 10, Kylie's Kris Kollection minis in Boss & Too Blessed, Mac's Velvet Teddy & Creme De Nude, Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B and Kylie's birthday mini in Birthday Suit! Love all of these lipsticks to the moon and back, formula and colours!
And that's all! I hope you've enjoyed seeing my holy grail products I can't live without and my recommended travel friendly products!
