'Everyday' Makeup Routine 2022

 Hey!

Before I jump into this post I just wanted to address the excess of 2022 posts that I am posting in the middle of 2023. Last Autumn I began studying for my qualification (whilst also working) and only finished recently, meaning I had pretty much no free time for a little while there. I absolutely loved being back in education as a student, but I spent so much of my time sat at my laptop writing essays leaving very little space left for writing for fun. I kept up with content idea wise (for example I knew I wanted to do an 'everyday' makeup routine post for 2022 and even took all the pictures for this post but I am only now getting round to actually writing the post up) but completed nothing... until now! It's the summer holidays and it feels so good to be getting these all out. I love my blog so much and would hate for the content that I was so excited about to go to waste just because I wasn't able to give it the time it deserved. Hope you don't mind the little throwback!

I love having these posts to look back on and see how my makeup style has evolved through the years. Super nostalgic to revisit. I intend to continue documenting this yearly, and this was the makeup I wore most consistently throughout 2022. As I always say as a little disclaimer in these posts, the title eludes to this makeup being my 'go to' when I did decide to wear it in 2022 rather than me saying I did this and looked like this everyday.

First things first, pulling my hair up out of my face so we can get started! What better to do that with than my absolute favourite scrunchie! My mum got this for me from Designed By Alice (@designedbyalice_ on Instagram)

And she's ready to go! I wanted to do this post near the end of the year so I could most accurately document my 2022 beauty routine without missing any last minute changes, so these pictures are from Boxing Day! That's why I'm looking festive!

The first thing I did was apply my Simple hydrating light moisturiser. This is my number one for makeup prep. Sinks in so quickly whilst still doing the job.

To prime I used the Rare Beauty Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer I have a sample of and am loving

I got this foundation early on in 2022 and genuinely haven't used any other since. I love it so much! This is the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Foundation in shade 140. It's the most natural and skin like foundation I've ever tried, and although it may sound strange, it really makes me feel as if I'm enhancing my natural skin rather than covering it up and plastering over it hahah. It feels kind to my skin and the best finish. As you can see from the amount I've applied to my face in the picture below, a little goes a long way!

Here's me trying to get a picture of said perfect finish.

Then I apply the Liquid Touch concealer! I think this might be the first year of my makeup wearing life that I'm not using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer...

Next up is blush, and I'm using the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch blush in the shade Bliss. I apply this to my cheeks and nose.

For brows I used the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Pencil & Gel in the shade Deep Brown. I didn't take a pic but before this I also powdered with the Revolution Matte Base Powder under my eyes and on my chin!

For mascara I used the Rare Beauty (shock) Perfect Strokes Mascara very lightly on my outer lashes!

I used the Zoella X Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in XOXO my waterline. I'm constantly wearing this eye look at the moment even though it's very y2k lol

For lips my current fave is the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Blush in Category Is Lips!

Makeup done! :D

I then attempted to get some close ups to show the finish look hahaha.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you're having a wonderful day, and if not, I'm sending you the biggest hug. See you soon!
