Self-care Sunday Diaries

Happy Self-Care Sunday!

For me, self-care is all about the little things you do throughout the day that bring you joy, mindfulness and much needed me time. In this series I'll be showing you my day through the self-care I practice. I think it's important for me to say that the purpose of this series is not to show how 'good' or together I am- because I am not at all! It's to give me more motivation to do these nice things for myself by documenting them for you. I'm not that great at doing them simply just for me at the moment. I'm really trying to make more of an effort with self love this year as I've spent too many Sundays doing nothing for myself and just dwelling in the lows of my current mental health state when I could've been filling that time with things that make me feel brighter. Writing about these things will not only give me motivation and reason (though doing it for yourself should be reason enough!!! My brain just finds that hard to see sometimes) but will hopefully also give the reader motivation or simply a reminder to do this for yourself. I really hope at least one person reading these will find that here.

It's the simple things that get neglected first when lives get busy or minds get scary. On self-care Sundays, those little things mean the most. It's not so much what you do, but more what it brings you.

For me, these are the things that make me feel looked after by me.

I had my first long lie in of the week before getting up and making my bed all pretty :)

I got dressed in my favourite Jungleclub outfit, these trousers are so gorgeous and comfy too!

& I put on my perfume which is something I often forget to do but always makes me happy

Of course I said good morning to bobbins

Before making myself a cup of tea in my new mug which was a Christmas gift from Lauryn! :)

Then I removed my old nail varnish that had been on for ages and repainted with my favourite nude varnish. It felt really good to freshen them up as it was a task I'd been putting off for days. Was so nice to do it whilst sipping my tea, sat at the table in the sun next to Iestyn who was working on his art!

Checked todays page in my daily positive affirmations book! Love love love

I spent most of the afternoon reading my book (magpie society) in a frog bucket hat

and then me and iestyn baked some cupcakes! We made so many mistakes but it was so funny. Going to do a new baking fails segment with Iestyn on here hahaha

At 8 I put my jammies on, Bob just wanted to say hello again. Spent the rest of the night watching early seasons of the kardashians (iconic) and treated myself to my favourite snack in the world- chocolate coated strawberries!

Today wasn't revolutionary, I didn't get half the things I wanted to done, I still had some trouble with anxiety in the evening, but it did me so much good. I focused on me, appreciated the little things and as a result, feel more mindful and positive. Creating healthy habits!

I hope you manage to add something similar to your Sunday routine! Please do let me know one thing you've done or are going to do for you today in the comments below.
